A rare set of calculators, including Blaise Pascal’s groundbreaking invention, has recently made its way to the American Computer and Robotics Museum in Bozeman, MT. These remarkable reproductions, representing two centuries of innovation, were created by model maker Roberto Guatelli for a 1971 IBM exhibit. Eleanor Barker, the museum’s executive director, describes the acquisition as serendipitous, as it fills significant gaps in their collection. Although not currently on display, the public will have the opportunity to view these extraordinary artifacts during the museum’s “Secrets from the Archives” event on June 27th, 2023, offering a glimpse into the fascinating world of historical calculating machines.
