by | May 20, 2023 | Soft

Soft Robotics Inc., a robotics company specializing in AI-enabled picking solutions tailored for the food industry, is set to showcase their product, mGripAI, at the upcoming Automate event from May 22-25 in Detroit, Michigan. Visitors can find them at booth 818 in Huntington Place. mGripAI combines 3D vision, artificial intelligence, and soft grasping technologies, creating an integrated solution that boasts an IP69K rating. With mGripAI, system integrators and OEM machine builders can automate production processes previously considered unfeasible, as industrial robots are now equipped with the sensory, cognitive, and dexterous capabilities of human workers.

Soft Robotics’s mGripAI

During the event, Soft Robotics will demonstrate two impressive applications powered by mGripAI:

  1. Tray Packing Chicken Drumsticks Directly from Bulk: This demonstration showcases the efficient picking, orienting, and packaging of raw poultry products from bulk, achieving impressive rates of up to 60 units per minute.
  2. Case Packing Sausages from Bulk: Soft Robotics will exhibit 3D bin picking, sorting, and orienting of packaged sausages, achieving remarkable rates of up to 24 picks per minute.

In addition to these demonstrations, Soft Robotics will also highlight the mGripAI no-code interface, allowing any machine builder to harness the power of AI in complex picking applications.

Some of the key benefits of mGripAI include:

  1. Reducing reliance on unavailable labor.
  2. Saving floor space.
  3. Increasing throughput.
  4. Reducing food waste.
